Danette Heredia is a Digital Communications + Media student at Florida International University with a strong interest in news and its sociological impact on diverse populations. Her writing spans multiple genres, with a particular focus on political reporting that involves politics and in-depth research. She currently writes for PantherNOW, FIU’s student news site, covering topics related to student and faculty government.

Danette is also involved with FIU’s broadcast program, Caplin News, where she contributes as a scriptwriter and technician. In addition to reporting, she has studied photography for over seven years, integrating visual storytelling into her journalistic work, strengthening and amplifying her stories. She aspires to work as a writer and researcher alongside a team of dedicated journalists.
